necessary (must be clean and dry)
-
Cross cut and impact adhesion far superior to conventional alkyd
systems
-
Tough, flexible film, resistant to aqueous chemicals
-
Much less maintenance needed, only one coat when re-painting
-
Use with our patinas to produce antique and highlighted finishes
-
Excellent adhesion to freshly hot-dipped galvanized ironwork,
and also non-galvanized steel.
Two
coats will give a long lasting finish on freshly galvanized ironwork
and can be applied by brush or spraying.
Today,
most ironwork for outside use is hot dipped galvanized. This helps
to prevent rust and greatly increases the life of the ironwork. In
the course of time however, the zinc will be chemically changed into
corroded zinc by the atmosphere. In order to prevent this, zinc
coated surfaces should be painted. Conventional paints will not
adhere without pre-treatment and can chip or flake.
